How to set up your centre on REMMU in an afternoon

Switching software feels like a big project, so it keeps getting pushed to 'next month'. It doesn't have to be. You can have your centre running on REMMU — students added, fees set, reminders ready — in an afternoon. Here's the order that works.

1. Add your classes and fee plans first

Before students, set up what you actually charge: your classes or subjects and their monthly fees. If you give sibling discounts or per-subject pricing, configure those once here. Everything downstream inherits from this, so getting it right first saves rework.

2. Add your students

Add students and assign them to a class and fee plan. You don't need a perfect import — start with your active students. You can add the long-tail later. The point is to get your real, paying roster in so the next billing cycle is accurate.

3. Turn on WhatsApp reminders

• Set the day of the month fees are due
• Let REMMU send the reminder and payment link automatically
• Decide if you want a follow-up nudge for overdue fees

That's the loop that gives you your weekends back. Once it's on, you're not the one sending 'have you paid?' messages anymore.

4. Do a test run

Send yourself or a friendly parent a real invoice and walk through paying it by FPX or DuitNow. Seeing the full flow once — reminder, checkout, receipt — gives you the confidence to roll it out to everyone.

Spend the rest of the afternoon tidying student details and trying the payment flow, and by the time next month's fees roll around, the whole thing runs itself.
